Traditional and cultural dresses in Brussels

A Moroccan wedding, a henna night, an engagement, Eid, an Algerian or Turkish celebration: each occasion has its outfit, and a festive outfit is often worn only once. Kiraia gathers caftans, takchitas, karakous, Kabyle dresses, henna dresses and modest evening gowns at the hub in Anderlecht, to rent for a celebration or to buy.

The pieces come from private owners and designers in Brussels and beyond. Each one is checked and photographed worn. You try on at the hub and pay in person.

    What you will find

    • Moroccan caftans and takchitas, for guests and for the bride.
    • Karakous, Kabyle dresses, Algiers caftans and other Algerian outfits.
    • Henna dresses and Turkish evening dresses (abiye), modest or not.
    • Long-sleeved evening gowns and festive abayas for those who prefer a covered outfit.
    • Festive outfits from other traditions as they are deposited: Indian and Pakistani, African wax, Kurdish…

    Sizes, fittings

Sizes run from 34 to 60 depending on the piece; the real size and measurements are on every listing, as are the belts and accessories supplied. Fittings at the hub, by appointment, let you compare several outfits before choosing.

    Frequently asked questions

Do you rent caftans for the bride or only for guests?
Both. Listings state the occasion of each piece: guest, bride, henna, engagement. A bride who changes outfits several times can book several for the same date.
Can I buy an outfit instead of renting it?
Yes, when the owner offers it for sale: the purchase price then appears next to the rental price. Abayas are most often for sale.
How do I offer my own caftans?
From your account, you describe the piece and bring it to the hub; our team checks and photographs it. See the page « Offer my dress ».
